Exports & Imports
Sri Lanka's main exports products are Rubber and Rubber products, Tea, Ceramic items, Garments, electrical machinery and parts were the other major export items. The exports from Sri Lanka to Sweden record an upward trend in recent past.
Sri Lanka's main import goods from Sweden are Telecommunication apparatus, Resins, Plastic Materials, Paper and Paper products are the other main Sri Lankan imports.
Investment
Swedish Foreign direct Investment (FDI) to Sri Lanka recorded considerable growth in the recent past. It shows that the Swedish investment in Sri Lanka in 2005 increased by 52.7% compared to 2004.
Swedish investments in Sri Lanka are mainly focus on Information Technology, Telecommunication, Garment and Rubber sector. Swedish major companies such as Trelleborg AB, IFS, Ericsson AB and Oriflame have operations in Sri Lanka

● Development Cooperation
The Swedish development cooperation activities carried out by the Swedish International development Agency (SIDA). The development co-operation in Sri Lanka was started in 1958 and the Swedish support was directed towards Sri Lanka's family planning activities, hydroelectric power, education and rural development. A development co-operation office was opened in 1976 and Swedish assistance was extended to research co-operation hydro power development, education and integrated rural development. At present the development co-operation supports activities in peace, democracy and economic growth.

Sri Lanka signed Investment Protection Agreements with Sweden in April 1982.
Sri Lanka signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation with Sweden in February 1983.
Agreement on Development Co-operation between the two countries was signed on 7th April 2003 for a period of 3 years and Sweden has agreed to provide a sum of SEK 270 Mn
